Committee Report for March
Creation Care Alliance is an interfaith network of people of faith and congregations who have united around a moral and spiritual call to preserve the integrity, beauty, and health of God’s creation. The Alliance is represented at the Coalition by members from Waynesville First United Methodist.

The Alliance held a Virtual Retreat in late January, 2021. There were numerous workshops, including “Climate Change and Faith,” “Environmental Justice,” “Disaster Preparedness,” and “Solar 101.” Members from Waynesville First Methodist presented at the “Congregational Seeds of Action” workshop, introducing their growing library of videos, produced by the church and posted on YouTube.

The video library currently has videos on composting, climate change in the Blue Ridge, and a presentation by Haywood Waterways. Future planning includes videos on native plants and pollinators. A link to these videos is on the Coalition website.
